Quality Inspector

Under the direction of the Quality Manager, perform inspections on incoming, in-process, and completed product to determine that materials and products are within the specifications and requirements as defined by the company. 

Responsibilities:

  • Project Inspections Perform inspections to ensure the proper type of material, finish, workmanship, and conformance to both Loos standards and customer specifications for all Equipment and assemblies for the Colby Location. Maintain QA Project Log 

  • Machined Parts Inspections: Perform inspections for all product coming out of the Machine Shop to ensure the proper type of material, finish, workmanship, and conformance to both Loos standards and customer. Maintain QA Repeat inspections log. 

  • Shipping/Receiving inspections: Perform inspections on identified high-risk purchased products/materials. 

  • Daily Work Center Inspections: Perform daily inspections of random in-process parts from each work center. 

  • Non-destructive Examination (NDE): Perform all dye pen, passivation, and vacuum testing per procedure. 

  • Vendor Nonconforming Product: Collect information and documentation pertaining to Vendor NCNs before handing off to the QA manager for all stainless steel sheets, plates, pipe, plastics, and purchased parts. 

  • Safety: Responsible for incorporating safety and good housekeeping into the day-to-day activities of the department/company. This includes the taking of corrective/preventive action on problems within the dept. 

Requirements:

  • Ability to work independently, be initiative-taking, multitask, and work with others towards specific objectives. 

  • Strong organizational and time management skills with attention to detail. 

  • Capable of identifying problems and implementing solutions 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 

  • Computer Skills - Familiar with Office 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint) 

  • Educational equivalent of a two-year associate degree in quality assurance or related field, or two (2) years of related work experience in an industrial environment or quality-related role - preferred. 

  • Experience with stainless steel manufacturing and fabrication - preferred. 

  • Ability to read engineering drawings (Solidworks experience is a plus) - preferred. 

  • Experience with Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001) and processes. - preferred. 

  • Trips to Plant 3 (Bruce, WI) – Occasional or as needed.
